Our Origin

In 2017, in the heart of a Quito’s family, Miskay was born, a name that comes from two Quechua words "Mikuna" which means food, and "Kawsay" which means culture; Looking with this game of words to reflect in its name the identity of being a place that rescues the gastronomic culture of Ecuador and dedicate every corner of the restaurant to enhance the Ecuadorian culture.

On a third floor with a privileged view of Plaza Foch in a relaxed, quiet and comfortable environment, seeking to be an oasis where its clients can enjoy a new experience, this dream begins with a touch of home and connected to ancestral roots., empieza este sueño con un toque de hogar y conectado a las raíces ancestrales.

The restaurant's decoration is unique and original, it has upholstered chairs one by one with tapestries brought from Otavalo, hand-lacquered tables, and figures in decorative urns that connect with each region, or that represent iconic characters such as the Virgen del Panecillo, the Diablo Huma, the Cucurucho, Danzante de Pujilí, among others. The murals on the walls are hand painted by an artist from the Ecuadorian Amazonas Region and express a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a connection to the roots of Ecuador.

The heart of the restaurant is its kitchen, and Miskay has a kitchen equipped for practicing modern techniques in food processing and handling, among which Thermocirculators, vacuum sealers, thermomix, among others; This kitchen is exposed to the public to provide a feeling of transparency and security to the consumers of the establishment.
